The landmark of Frýdlant is its castle, situated on a hill above the town and surrounded by a castle park with several ponds. The first reports on the existence of the castle date back to the 13th century where it received bit by bit its appearance of today. The spacious castle has collections of weapons, paintings, furniture and other subjects of a big treasure value. The second center of attraction in Frýdlant is the townhall on the market square of the town, which accommodates a museum on the 2nd floor. In 2002, all places of interest were connected by an excursion pathway. This pathway starts on the market square and it is labeled well enough.
